Parenting Bristol CIC Ltd was set up in 2017 by three local mums: Anna Hinchliffe, Emma Cooper and Clare Rose. Their vision is to create a community for parents and carers of young children to meet others, to share experiences and be supported.
The Community Interest Company aims to benefit families with young children and the wider community such as childcare providers or foster carers. Providing information and support around pregnancy, childbirth, infancy and toddlerhood – resources on parenting, normal infant behaviour and information on carrying children in slings and baby carriers.
What we do
Free newborn sling hire service – accessed via Bristol Sling Ladies, providing free hire of a stretchy wrap or Close Caboo to all parents of babies under 6 weeks old.
Social events and social sling meet, hosting Bristol Cloth Nappy Library and other parenting support services.
Community outreach projects in partnership with other agencies (Health Visitors, Midwives, local charities) supporting those affected by perinatal mental ill health.
Provide volunteering opportunities in order to develop skills, experience and confidence while out of the workplace on parental leave or longer term.
